mixing engine oil

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to mix different makes of engine oil as long as they have exactly the same specification number?
For example, Mobile 1 with shell helix.

Yes that is OK,, MB used my own Mobil 1 and gave me some Helix to top up with,,so that is fine:D
