ML 250 bluetech wheels size query

hello, I have a ML 250 Bluetech reg 64 with some original 20" wheels , could I upgrade my wheels for 21" wheels with no risk of damaging or impacting my car performance. Any tips will be welcome please . My query may not make sens for some but those with positive feedback please send me any ideas or thougths

You can increase the size of the wheels fitted, you'll just fit tyres with a lower profile to make the overall rolling diameter the same. The ride will suffer though to some extent.

Why would you do this? 20” wheels give way too much crash & bang over our 3rd world like road surfaces.

Actually, that’s being unfair to many 3rd world countries’ roads.

Maybe my Airmatic masks it, but my ML doesn't crash & bang on its 20" rims .... it doesn't feel much different from my R Class with its 19" rims
