ML 270 CDi Central Locking Fault

Hi Guys
I only ever seem to use this site when i'm stuck, so help again please, ' I'm Stuck'.
When i try to lock the car, whether by remote or as the car moves off.
The drivers lock repeatedly tries to lock before stopping in the unlocked position, everything else works fine, including the alarm.
Any ideas please.

you have a switch fault within the drivers door lock, as far as i know its not repairable and a new lock is required.
Not to easy to change either, is very tight in the door and once the door pannel is off, the window regulator needs to be moved to one side.
