ML 270 cdi: diesel leaking into gallery around injectors

I am new to this site and having difficulty just trying to find my way around. Our 51 plate ML 270 is leaking diesel into the gallery around the injectors. We have had the egine bay washed and the leaking diesel appears fresh and clean.

The problem seems to occur only when the car has had a period of normal running but does not happen on tickover, even for an extended period. It has been suggested the cause might be small o ring seals on the return/leak off line above the injectors. I hope that makes sense as I am not familiar with the technical names

Would you agree and if so is the cure simple?

If that's what it is...then yes an easy fix.

Or the thin return lines from each injector are perished they are rubber after all.
