I have tried to replace the glow plugs on my 270 cdi as the light comes on and remains on after the engine is started. I cannot get these little critters out for love nor money. Seems to keep unscrewing and I can see the full thread however I cannot seem to get them out....any ideas?

glow plugs

the plugs have screwed out as far as the threads will take them by what you are saying so you are in luck they have not snapped,You have a few options the john wayne option is lift bonnet fully open and start it and let it warm up in the hope it will blow them out (be careful).or you can attach a slide hammer or i have a tool that drills the plug and attach a draw bar and draw the plug out.Any pics available or you require any more info just ask as i have done a lot of these:p

It is only the soot build up that is stopping them on the ends, if you squirted some release agent into the thread bottoms it could loosen them up

Does the glow plug feel loose or is it still tight to turn as this could be a good indication if they are still intack can you send me pics the slide hammer option involves drilling and tapping plug

They feel loose, and I am able to wobble them from side to side. When unscrewing they feel loose...
