ML 270 CDI injector

Hi,Ive recently bought a 2000 ml270 and have been noticing a nasty diesel burning smell inside and out.Today I noticed a little smoke from beneath the glow plug cover.I took the cover off and the plugs and injectors were covered in a thick black shiny tar,as was the underneath of the cover.I started the engine and noticed a gas squirting from the middle injector,which also seemed to have a ladder tie securing it.The tar has made everything go solid and im afraid if I start messing then the wires may snap,im assuming I have to replace the injector but I think someone has bodged an earlier repair after reading some other Q's. Also I cannot take the car out of park unless I put a pencil in the gear lever box behind the drive select,I assume there is a switch connected to the pedal but cant find it. Im based in south London if anybody could recommend a garage local I could trust. Thanks in advance for your advice..........Pete

There are loads on the forum about this problem it should not be to big of a problem if you have the right tools for the job most star specialists will have i have done a lot of these including stripped injector stretch bolts which can be repaired so as you can still use genuine screw
