Hello.it,s my first post. hope iv put it in the right place.any way.my ml started ok this morning drove 20 feet onto the road and cut out .it started ok but now has no power .will not rev up past 3000 rpm and wont change down when driving.pluged in my code reader and it shows no codes.reading some of the other threads it sounds like it,s the air flow meter.but what realy worried me was the valeo radiator problem that i was reading about. i have felt a slight juder sometimes.i have only had the ml for 6 months it has always seamed to rev up slightly between gear changes at full throtal is this normal or a sign of the glycol problem.its a 2001 ml 270 cdi

On the point of the Valeo radiator problem........DONT WORRY, all ML's have a separate, independently mounted oil cooler for the gearbox, it is impossible for engine coolant to mix with the gearbox oil.

Regarding the 'flaring' between changes......MB now recommend changing the gearbox oil and filter at regular intervals....has yours been done?

As for the cutting out problem, there are many things that could cause your problem, it could be the maf but might be better to get the codes read by a mote advanced machine.

No, there shouldn't be any flaring between gear changes.........mine used to flare between 3rd and 4th change......it also occasionally (3 times in a year) lost its drive, only reselecting drive after stopping and restarting ..........i never found the cause as i fitted another gearbox that i came across.........i've never had any problems since (2 years) which at least confirms the problems i previously had were internal to the gearbox rather than any external factor involved.
