Whilst removing the positive battery terminal i notice a porcelain block that has literally fell apart as i was undoing the main nut.The block appears to be between the two positive terminals and also there is what appears to be a broken fuse wire there also.Whats this lot about guys, does the block have to be there or can the two terminals touch. As for the wire ive no idea were that belongs as it all just fell apart in my hands.

Sorry im late replying ive been on holiday. The faulty part was the ballast resistor which comes as a porcelain block with a fuse and is all part of the battery terminal set up cost £4-50p to buy from Mercedes but caused chaos.
