Hi would anyone now what would be normal functioning for the servo motor
The one operates the swirl flaps in the inlet manifold
With vehicle stationary

would there be different amounts of movement with different rev's
when I blip throttle what would be the normal response from this unit

as usual any help would be appreciated

Kevin

This motor M55 is the inlet port shut off. it is important that the linkages are all in good order and no free play, when the linkage is worn it will make the engine smoke and go into the emergancy mode or lose power.
No parts available as of 09-06 and MBs answer is to fit a new manifold

Thanks for the reply Malcolm
I removed the inlet manifold today and linkages are OK, but when I rebuilt and tested it the servo motor wasn't operating the rail as I would of expected
I think there may be a problem with the servo motor
I was told that this part can be purchased from MB

sorry to keep harping on about stuff

When I said no parts I meant for the linkages, the motor is a stepping motor if three wires.

What do we have here.
Check fuse if motor does not function from the engine ECU. from 04 00 the is a break point with different part numbers.
I am looking at a 613.963.

If motor is defective always replace lever link rod with modified contour and retaining clip

Sorry malcolm I thought I'd added the part No of the actual part it's self when I had it off, but some how lost it in the edit,
SERVOMOTOR part No A 6111500494 RRP: £75.23 You pay: £67.71 from
WWW. mercedes-benz-co-uk.
The motor is working irraticaly but with only very short movement some times it won't opperate untill I feel for it and give it help with my finger
do you think this could be relating to my main problem

I cant answer this directly as if it is a stepping motor it will only move in small amounts dependent of the signals it is given.

This thread is very hard for me to answer exactly on as I am not very good with diesels, and it would be wrong of me to pretend that I do
