Ml 270 rear seats/wires

Hi Ive done a search but cant find anything

When I refit my rear seat covers I come across wires under both rear seat
would anyone know what they might be for

Are they loose or do they go somewhere

Thanks for the reply Malcolm they come from the floor up to what seams like a plug connector then in to the seat base I think there is one to each seat

Very few cars have rear seat heating and yes they would have switches somewhere they would on the rear of the console

The wires are for seat recognition in regard to the passenger rear-side airbags.
