Hi, I have used this forum a couple of times and have been very impressed with the results in solving some of the problems I've had.

I now have another, The SRS light is now coming on and off at intermittent intervals but only when I have a passenger in the fron seat.
I have been informed that this is a fault with the automatic child recognision seat system. Is this an expensive thing to replace or should I just leave it?

Also, in a completey un-related topic, the fuel gauge gives sporadic and innacurate readings when it gets to half tank level, where one minute it'll show below half then the next time you drive will show 3/4.

Any help will be great

Thanks

i would suggest get the fault sorted as when the srs light is on the airbag system does not work so if you are in an accident the airbags will not go off also i think it may be an mot failure.
also your fuel gauge fault may be due to a dodge fuel sender unit in the tank

Fuel gauge inaccuracy, run injector cleaner through the tank, quite a common fault.
SRS warning light will be due to a dodgy seat recognition pad.

i think it may be an mot failure.

The srs system is NOT an MOT test item........a non- functioning srs will not cause a mot failure.

Sounds like a faulty seat pad sensor.....you need to remove the seat from the car to strip the seat covering and access the pad.

Agree seat sensor, not sure but call mercedes as it might be a recall, just guessing though.
