You can get them repaired free through your insurance or a new screen if you have windscreen cover. pop to your local autoglass or similar and see what they say. Won`t take long for it to spread though once it gets those "spiders legs". Wack a load of superglue on it to slow it down.

Hi Kevin,
I had a small chip on my motorhome (Ducato 2.8JTD based) and ignored it, but come winter it went into a spiders web across the whole window requiring a complete replacement. The company who did this (a local firm) replaced it and it was perfect, no wind noise, leaks etc, couldnt tell it had been done. This was 3 years ago and was perfect to the day I sold it, so shouldnt see any reason why the M-Class couldnt be repaired the same. Depending on your insurance, you might have to contribute for a new window (chip repair is generally free), but its all down to what you feel best with.

Now at 87.5k, so covered around 1500miles since it was replaced and it does feel better, but loathed to say so because the old box went perfect before its demise. No faults registering though and the thud seems to have subsided apart from drivetrain backlash, so will wait and see. Will keep the thread updated, especially when I get round to stripping the old box and transfer case and will post the photos.
