Ive just had a job done which resulted in the coolant being dropped out and put back in.I now have a coolant light on the dash that goes off when started but comes back on straight away even though the coolant is topped up in the resevoir.Could this be a faulty sensor in the resevoir and if so it looks like it only comes as part of the resevoir not seperate.Any ideas guys .

You may just have an air lock in the system. As the nice weather is with us, it may be in the heater matrix & hasn't bled through due to you not using the heater. Strange though that you say the level is OK. Some models have the screen wash level sensor linked into the coolant level sensor but I'm not sure about the ML. I would fill the screen wash, top up coolant & go for a drive with the heater on & windows open. No harm in trying something that's free.

To wrap up this thread the fault was the ballast resistor on the terminal on the battery that was blown and cracked through general wear and tear. Cheers
