Mercedes ML Remapping at GAD Tuning
Today we have had the pleasure of working with the greatly underpowered Mercedes ML 300 CDI. With a stock 204 BHP (2010 EDC17 CP10), The first task is to get the ecu out of the vehicle a little tricky for the inexperienced but as far as ECU removal goes this is one of the most temperamental. Located in the wheel arch we jacked the front of the vehicle up and proceeded. 35 Minutes later the reading of the ecu started (see pictures above). After the read we refitted the ecu and reset all gearbox and EM systems to allow for seamless adaptations. Next up the test drive and data log, as with all GAD Tuning remaps we test and log data to ensure 100% that our requests in the remap are successfully being converted by the vehicle and ECU.
Key areas of change in this particular map
- Rail pressure
- Torque limitations (7G Box)
- 100 % throttle Fuel requests
- Boost under all conditions
- TCU bite pressure
Above are the key areas of the remap that were changed to improve both MPG (fuel consumption) and power. Although the client was unable to hang around for a DYNO run we estimate and request 620 NM of torque from this engine making it strong competition for the 350 CDI (stock form).
