Ml 320- 1999 Engine Cuts Cut

Last week stopped for about 10 mins came back to the car- which would not start- it restarted about 10 mins later - only to shut off again in the middle of the road. The AA arrived 3 hours later - by then it was working perfectly - and the aa man said my be it was just a gliche as car seemed to running perfectly.

The next when i drove probably for about 15 mins - whilst on the flyover the car lost all power an shut of whilst driving - luckily i managed to pull over - again it restarted as if nothing had happened. The car seems to always start back after about 10 mins - Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this???????????

I would have thought that the crankshaft sensor would be a good reason.

Not up at all on mech issues - which is y i have logged on here really . Would the crankshaft sensor b an expensive job -do u think???

And does it get worse as it goes on - because other than that the car drives perfectly - and there are no warning lights coming up

Its number 5 in the diagram, £40-80 and ½ hour to fit, the piece would not put any lights on.

This is one of the only parts that would behave like this

thanks i have just booked the car in 4 2morrow at least i can tell them to check the crankshaft first!!!!
