ML 430 Sharp Cracking Noise

Am settling into the ML I bought a few weeks ago, she's been converted to gas and is running brilliantly apart from a few minor problems (well at least I hope they are!)

One is that I get a sharp metalic carck occasionally when i am going right (particularly around islands)

Had thought it was my seat as it seems to come from under me but have today discovered that the noise is coming from outside and is quite load (opened the window cos it's sunny lol)

Have had a look under car and can't find anything loose - wondering if it might be the suspension??

Any ideas guys?

sound like you have a lower ball joint trying to seiz up, jack up. knock out track rod end and see how easy it is to turn hub, somewhere to start!!

thanks - have taken it to merc specialist who says it's the rear bushes - waiting for a price to sort it out
