Hi,

I have a ML270, 2002. How do you activate the 4x4 or is it on permenant 4x4

Its permanent 4 Wheel drive, but you have a low range transfer box for going off road. In Neutral, select the low range by pressing the Low Range button on the dash, the light will flash and a few seconds later, the Low Range indicator will light. If you are going down steep hills, engage 1st gear and the computer will control your descent (any other gear and it isnt active).
