Hey there!
I have a question and maybe one of you can help me. I bought a 2006 ML 500 without the hitch accessory. I had a hitch installed from a local dealer and now i am finding out that the wiring does not word. Mercedes wants $1500 for the hitch because it requires a new computer to make the lights work. Any suggestion or part suggestion to make this work?

Many thanks if you have the answer!

I have a 2003 ML 270. I had a hitch fitted by a non genuine supplier and the wiring done by a competent auto electrician. No way was a "computer" required to make the electrics work. Suggest you find a competent auto electrician and have him sort it out. I know there are LED's involved so it isn't as simple as in the old days. I vaguely recall some relays and alternative power sources. Wasn't hugely expensive - under AUS$200 from memory for the electrical work.
