This is a long strange story but i'll try to keep it brief! One of my valued customers is going through a bitter split with his partner and she has his beloved ML! The car is in his name(i checked first) and he is still paying the finance. Now, he wishes to get the car back, even buying her a runaround(he's far too nice)to keep her mobile. He had a spare key/fob and went to repossess it and the alarm went off. He got some new batteries and returned, the alarm went off. He then went to Mercedes and they supplied him with a new fob and a 3 figure bill after producing his V5 and off he goes. The alarm went off! Now, although i used to fit alarms for a living, i have no experience of Merc factory fitted units. I know on some cars you still have to code the fob to the car by discharging it or pressing 10 times with the ignition on, is the Merc like this? Are we missing something simple? If not, is there any way to disarm it so he can recover it? He has informed the local Police of his intentions so he doesn't get arrested, but they dont want to get involved in any other capacity. I understand fully that you cannot post details on how to disarm it for every criminal to see so i've left my email facility open. This is a genuine request and all help will be gratefully recieved.
