ML Brake Pads

Guy's, about to change the pads in the front of my ML270CDi, pads arrived today and on inspection they have what is best described as odd shaped spring type attachements on the rear. I suspect these are a kind of shim but not sure.
The question is is there anything I need to know about changing them or is it just strainght like and pad change.

I think the odd shaped spring attachment (3 prongs ) are the clips for holding the pads to the caliper pistons.. seriously I would suggest you get help from someone who knows a bit about mechanics to help you fit these..brakes need to be properly fitted..
