ML Mirror not folding

Hi - the mirror on my ML (2001) only folds (electric) 10% before stopping. The setup is ok as the other mirror continues to fold. I am guessing that this is due to it being pushed a little the other way by somebody in the supermarket car park...
I have removed the mirror assembly fom the car but I can't go any further.
Is this unit something I can dismantle and get working again?

Hello and welcome have you tried lubricating the fulcrum point where it swivels with PTFE

The mirror may have slipped on the folding mechanism. sometimes whilst holding the switch a little manual help to fold the mirror will rectify the situation....
