Hi i have had a ml430 for a few years with lpg on it. Last winter is stared playing up, everytime it switched to lpg it would run badly and misfire and cut out at junctions so i stopped using it on lpg, in about april time when it was a bit warmer i tried it again and it was fine, done a few thousand miles since then and its never been a problem. Ive had it parked up since the end of august until the start of january, and guess what its running horrendous on lpg again.
Lpg guys have had a look and they havent got the software to get it on there laptops.
A guy at work has a old disco with lpg and his did the same, apparently lpg needs a hotter spark? he changed the distributor cap and rotor arm and that solved his problem, but the ML has electric coil packs!
Think i will have to run get it on a STAR computer while its running on lpg to find the fault,

Does anyone have any suggestions?

cheers

Change your lpg filter was the first thing i got.

Then as with you look at the ignition system. but good luck getting MB to go anywhere near it.

There is a company in slough, whose name i will get from my post it at work. They specialise in LPG and the chap i spoke to has an ML320 running on LPG. i am going to see him this friday to get a Star computer plugged into mine for only £25. He comes across as very knowledgable about MB's on LPG. i iwll give proper feedback once i have been along there.

My faith has been restored.

His money is on new spark plugs by the way.

Hi

I'm also having problems with my A150 on an 07 plate recently converted to gas, it's at the Merc Dealer right now as the car keeps misfire and jerking, they did say that alot of the parametres were out the first time I took the car in, they reprogrammed the ECU back, and it was running fine on petrol until I switch to gas then the car start misfire and jerking again, switch back to petrol and still the same problems, only this time when I took it to merc the ECU itself won't let them reset it.

Any way your'e right about them not wanting to touch the LPG system "not Mercedes Part" But still they're willing to check the car over and try to sort the problem GOOD CHAPS.

Could you possible givre me the contact details of that MERC LPG SPECIALIST.

Thanks

I had exactly the same problems after a professional LPG conversion on an ML320. Is you're tank underslung or in the boot?

Got my car back from the dealer today, car is running normal on petrol but i dare not press the lpg as the last time i did that it start to judder and misfire even when idling it would be hunting for the revs, even when i change back to petrol.
