I wouldn’t rule out the 420 either as running costs are almost identical to the 320. but with so much more get up and go. We have both and over the last 5yrs of owning both fuel economy, tyres etc... are comparable- but I know which one I prefer to drive.

I’ve seen some £4K plus ad-blue horror stories. Not sure I’d be wanting it without warranty until the technology is matured and indies get experience fixing it at reasonable cost.

Thanks Jonny, that one looks nice but a bit more that I was intending to spend.
My cars do get a bit of a rough time, being used for every conceivable task including work, carrying furniture, building materials, tip runs etc! So I will probably look for one that is a little less pristine.

I will have to test drive one, but the trouble is, once I have tried one I will probably want one!

The later MLs GLs are not body on frame. So maybe not so tough. But matters only if using off road or for work, or if you live in the country, or maybe if towing.

MOT and mileage history look consistent, last MOTs had advisories of ‘oil leak but not excessive’ so that question has to be asked.

If it is coming out of the back of the engine undertrays then it will most likely be the intercooler seals, £700 job for 2x £5 parts
