ML W164 - 280 / 300 / 320 / 350 CDi engines

Hi there,

All the above engines are approx 3 litre.... are they basically all the same ( so could be remapped to about the same power ) or are there significant differences?

The engines are virtually the same. The injectors differ, and the later versions have cylinder pressure sensors adjacent to the injectors. They are all 3 litres. For mapping purposes they can all be tuned to similar levels. The later cars with the blue efficiency tag are better on fuel. My early car will do 30-32mpg. The blue efficiency 34-36mpg

I was looking at those - however they still seem to drop into the highest 2 road tax bands I.e. £500+ not 300 ish

The only way to get the cheaper tax seems to be find a 55 plate ML or GL or 06 plate registered up to the 22 mar 06
