    Hi all,

    I hope everyone is well.

I have had a new windscreen fitted all genuine merc and I noticed on the motorway that there was an increase in wind noise. More so, I put my hand up to the a-post and I could feel cold air on both posts. Obviously, air is getting in somewhere. Just wondering what really could be done about it or if its acceptable? I did notice the new screen is slightly different to the old, although they both have the same part number.

    Thanks

I wouldn't think it acceptable. Take it back to whoever fitted it and ask them to sort it.

Who fitted it? Are you sure the cold air you feel is coming from the screen area and not simply from the ventilation system?

    National Windscreens,

I can not feel any cold air at the bottom or the top of the screen. I can feel cold air along the A-posts top - bottom.

I manually turned off all the vents I could and I know some vents can not be turned off and wind can still make its way through the ventilation system.

The noise is loud enough to result in having to turn the volume up and then it makes it difficult to have a conversation in the car. I am just worried if I send it back, something could go wrong as well as the time and hassle factor.

But if air can get in so will the rain?

I have not washed the car yet, probably will tomorrow. Although if it is coming up from below the a-posts will rain still get in?

If air can, rain will. It needs to be corrected. The screen is a structural element, important to the car's rigidity.
