Well here I am in France to sign off house and rtn load n trailer to UK. Guess wot red message don't change gear and seek worshop!! Get to house turn off. Turn on hr later says danger car may roll as parking brake not applied. But it is! It won't move out of park! Had 4 new tyres put yest though maybe they knock somat off. Wheels off no see anything put back on park brake fuse OK and anyway when unplugged u get another f warning. See handbook! So now sat here no chance to read codes, xentry subscription out had that planned as UK job later in month. Trans 30 amp fuse good cud not get the b out so used test meter. Starting to look like a France UK recovery!! Unless I can find a way to get it into gear somehow. F great supposed to sign house Mon leave France 4th. W a b modern cars, every f trip a big risk Needless to say my 1968 mg based NG made it home no issues. With gsx1400 on tow behind as well. Fp off to say the least. Soon as fixed gone I dun with electronic cars.

Sounds like the ISM on the side of your gearbox.

The fact 4 new tyres were fitted does point to the possibility of a sensor being disturbed

Also, the R class is based on the ML platform; ours had the same issue with warning of parking brake as car not in Park etc. All due to one wheel speed sensor failing.

Hopefully I find out soon hope read codes today. Fact I can't totally my fault. I had to rush home from Burkina to shift NG and suzuki. Done. Then straight back to get tools, some job, onto trailer then go sign Monday and stay in motel till 4th night away job done. I am hoping on wheel sensor. In ur opinion will wheel sensor issue generate a " don't change gear and contact workshop." followed by " parking brake off" which it is Not and also as parked ", without gear change consult workshop"

Another pic it plainly. Is in park but it wont release the brake wud that be a speed sensor even when car not moving previous message was if in D consult workshop and wud faulty speed sensor on one wheel prevent shifting gear. Real strange no issues before tyres changed had rears off to look anything dislodged saw nowt will check front this am. Can only hope I wud believe it or not be quite chuffed if that was all it is.

Yep Andy they could very well come from that one sensor. Our R Class (wheel speed sensor failure) had the same warnings and symptoms as my S Class (transmission controller failure and water ingress in wiring harness).

Well to update. Old spanners, who, himself is not having a great time has offered to come over this pm and hook up his icarsoft
Frankly I shud never have allowed my xentry to lapse subscription. not easy to resolve from Burkina. Alistair tried to sort it this am. Unfortunately no luck. All my fault really I shud know better
Basically I got shot of vdoz precisely because of such dramas yet here I am. Won't ever happen again sad but maybe vdoz still not given any bother in new hands

Old spanners, who I sure has more important things to do rocked up with his icarsoft. I had it running and moving in ten min was issue on parking brake noted and cleared fault started 5vtimes still gone, ask me one on sport. Better. Old spanners left me with his icarsoft to travel back with in case it returns wot a gent. I will replace it ASAP. To ****ed now to test it that's a drama for tomorrow even if I have to clear it 10 times to get to the uk.
