Can anyone give me any advice with their own experience of fitting larger alloys onto their ML?? I have just bought a 2003 ML270 and currently have the factory 17" alloy with 255-60R-17 Dunlops. I would like to fit either 19" or preferably 20" alloys with a 275 or 285 width tyre, with a 40/45 sidewall. I have contacted numerous so-called alloy wheel specialist retailers on the net, but have been given much contradicting advice!
Basically, I would like to know from any other ML owners whether fitting a 19 or 20" rim with low profile tyres has dramatically reduced ride comfort (obviously, I know it will to a certain degree) by making it too hard, or is the ride not too bad? Is a 20" ok, or should I go for a 19" - and what sidewall?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
