ML270 cdi - windscreen wipers

For some reason the wipers stopped working for about ten minutes they then worked until I switched off.
When I started up this morning they worked for about two minutes before stopping again and have not worked since,curiously though,the rear wiper has worked intermittently.
Any ideas anyone,

Have you checked the fuse for the wipers.

Thanks for replying,
I went to check the fuse but before I did so I moved the wipers with my hand and they started working,it appears they are sticking at the bottom of thier sweep and probably need lubricating somewhere,I"ll check it out,

I believe that these wiper motors do have a thermal cutout inside, if the mechanism is too stiff, then this could be the trouble. the best lubricants are the silicon sprays that never dry and will not hurt the paint or plastics. Let us know how you get on

Come up as a fault code, "wiper motor is stiff or is blocked"
