ML270 diesel run for a few seconds

Got a guy with a ML270 diesel that fires up and stops after a few revs,,any idea on this one please

Hi Malcolm how are you keeping & great to see you back
Could be leek off rail air lock our possible injector passing (sort of acceptable pressure when ignition is on but when starting the injector passes enough pressure for ECU to stop engine) is there any lights associated to the problem

Thanks the car belongs to my local garage where I do some work, the battery ran down and the fault appeared after that.

Thank you again, he said that he changed the ign switch, but I cant see how he could do that without Star
