The antenna bit is the wire in the glass on the rear door, this goes to the amp in the c panel corner and then on to the radio.

The hole in the roof was for the phone and nothing to do with the radio

If someone has been removing things in the C pillar area, then it is very easy to break the thin center wire on the antenna cables

This is why I said tune to a weak station and touch the center pin on the plugs with a piece of wire just hanging out of the car, if the radio springs to life then you can find where the fault is

Wire come off booster

Hi

Are these connectors push-on, screw-on or clip-on? I am wondering how the wire came off the booster and what could have caused it?

Most are a push fit,,if not right in then the center pin may not be making contact,,some cars use the wisiclik plugs

Electronic antennas

Hi Malcolm

This thought occurred to my indie and the Hi-Fi Specialist. The pin, coax adapter and antenna plug & cable were found to be OK when my tuner was tested.

Just a thought, but would the MLs use a similar electronic antenna system to that employed in my C class?

All MBs from the 202 on use the same system
