ML270 Rainwater Leak

Hi,

I'm looking for some help with a water ingress problem on a ML270 year 2000. (The car isn't mine but I'd like to help out on it).

The drivers footwell is saturated with water. It appears to enter from within the kick panel area (between the accelerator pedal and the door). If a garden hose is held approx a third to half way up the windscreen and pointing upwards (but not enough to wet the top of the screen rubber) and towards the outer edge - then water enters the car.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The water will be comming in through the air intake box just in front of the screen, if you remove the grill and filter if fitted then clean the drain hole in the bottom it will fix the problem

Problem eventually cured.

In behind the pedals there is a drain pipe from the sunroof ?? It had came loose at a connection. Apparently it was torture to gain access and was time consuming.

Hope this may help anyone in the future.
