I have had a continuing nightmare with rear wheel
carrier on my 20mth old ML270CDi. It regularly seizes up at the hinge, making opening by anyone less that superman impossible, and worse than that the handle operated lock intermittantly refused to unlock, resulting in unpredictable emergancies for both my wife and myself. the last being outside a furniture store,where my wife spent 40 min in the rain with a store assistant taking instructions from me on the mobile phone to try and get the lift-rock and unlock sequence that would result in releasing the lock. I'm 16 stone and have diffciulty when this happens. It has been 'fixed' twice now by dealers and is back doing the same.
any advice on how to approach Mercedes to get the thing remopved and a refund on the cost?
