I read thru my Owners book- it reads refer to the serice manual--Then the service manual reads refer to Mercedes Dealer.
It has 90,000 miles and has used a liter every 1,000 miles since new. Previous owner used Mobil One 10W-40 he thinks. He thinks they changed the recommended oil from regular to synthetic a couple years into his ownership. Tired of paying $6 a Quart..I bought a 5 Qt bottle of Mobile One 15-50W From Walmart yesterday for $18.50 but, now am wondering if thats too thick. Neither Walmart or NAPA had 10-40 Mobile One in stock.

THE Dealer Told Me today 0W-40W Mobil One.

- it is 0W-40W that is recommended.
-I have never seen 0-40W Mobil One for sale.
- My check engine light was on and the ML idles rough once in a while. So I coughed up $78 to have the ML hooked up to the computer. The Tech said the light MAY MEAN the EGR. They could replace it in 2 hours for $350 +-.
I told them I would think about it.
I almost always do all my own maintenance. But I cannot find a service manual anywhere to buy. Nor could I find an EGR valve for a ML320 online.
This aint a Honda Civic. Guess I better get use to it. Or sell it.
