Hi lads/lasses,

am in need of assistance with my 2003 ML350.

The passenger seat occupancy alarm does not go out when the seatbelt is buckled into the retainer. Have tried unclipping the small plug and socket underneath but that just causes the SRS lamp to come on and the origianl problem remaining. Am I looking at having to replace the seatbelt retainer that attaches to the seat or is there something else I should be looking at? Am trying to avoid the dealers as much as possible with th eprices they will charge:shock:

Any help greatly appreciated

cheers

Lee

It is an important thing,, you have many good indies where you are who will not charge a kidney and a leg to put it on STAR

Thanks chaps, it's good to have contact with a UK forum. This is a good site from what I've found so far. Will contact the indies tomorrow.

Btw, disconnecting the seatbelt retainer isn't going to cause me any issues per chance??

Normally these things turn the SRS lamp on and they can only be turned off on STAR

Howdo chaps,

just fitted the replacement seat belt buckle and the alarm has disappeared!! No need to reset any alarms on STAR .....Result!! Cheers for the help.

NB: Disected the original one and found that the switch connector was unclipped.... plugged it back in and hey presto I now have a usable spare!!! Wish I'd known this before forking out £40 for a replacement one from the dealers:(

Suppose will not make that mistake again...but you learns from your errors.
