Hi name here is Colin, I have recently migrated from the ml270 it was a faithful companion but it was time to update my workhorse and send the old 270 to pastures new. It has not been a smooth transition as I have inherited someone's troubles! I say this as I was expecting a nice pleasant smooth comfortable upgrade with a few nice toys, you know like front and rear parking sensors, dedicated electrics and towing pack, folding mirrors etc, well I've got them and I like them I have also got an engine that seems like its poorly, then it's fine, the dealer has sorted one major fault, a duff turbo, and a leaking boost pipe but I'm left with an intermittent fault which I belive is why the last owner traded it in, trying to contact the last owner to ask about it has drawn a blank ad he no longer lives at the last keepers address. Anyway I thought its ok I've bought a 12 months extended warranty so should the gearbox drop out of the car or the cylinder head blows off I'm covered, seems there us an international get out clause waiting for me to try to get the problem resolved, I'm not letting the dealer try to sort it as I dont think he has a ****** clue or hes taking the pee out of me, I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue, the fault is random, car drives great quiet smooth and has plenty of umph when required, then it will suddenly start, cruising at say 65mph it will suddenly start what I can only describe as a miss fire , it smells of diesel and is jerky, give it a foot full and whoosh its away but soon returns to lumpy jerky drive, pull off the road switch off restart and all is happy again, after having the car scanned no faults stored, my next step is to get it to the diesel engineers who I know and trust, but they won't entertain the warranty route, my question is had anyone had dealing with warranty wise are they any good is there a special way to submit a claim I'm st a loss of what to do, any help or sympathy greatly appreciated. Wish I had stuck with the 270 now.
