ML500 servicing

I am just about to collect my first ever MB which is a ML500 2004 model. I have bought it through a non MB dealer and is is due its next service in June at roughtly 55k miles. Does anybody else have one of these and id so could they let me know roughly what costs I sould expect? Also what MPG other people are getting. To date is has been fully servied through a MB dealer. Not sure about servicing but someone will be along soon. I had a colleague with a ML500 and the trip computer seemed to avearge around 14mpg, I remember at the time thinking...wwwoooww.

When I was looking at an ML the 500 was appealing especialy having driven his, I only do 5-6K miles a yr so fuel not really an issue. However in the end I went for a ML350 (which is a V6 3.7) and so far I think it averages 20mpg and on a run at 80 it does 25mpg and around 18-20 towing our van.

Lovely car though, let us know what you get when you have it. I suspect the first tank will be dire as you get use to it
