Hi Guys

A few weeks ago the battery ran flat on my ML55 AMG (2002) because the boot did not QUITE close properly and so the boot light stayed on. Doh!

Anyways, the AA came and boost charged the battery for about 20 minutes, then a couple of good runs and the battery is fine again.

However, since that day we have had these problems:

1) The ESP light came on. Easily resolved by checking the manual, turning full lock one way then full lock the other. Solved!

2) Occasionally upon first start there's a sound of something moving and sticking, and the three lights in the bottom left corner of the dash come on all at the same time (one of which is the ESP light, can't remember the other two, but it's the three left-most and all-together).

You can switch the engine off, start it again and most times whatever it was that 'stuck' works fine and no lights. Sometimes you have to restart a second (or VERY rarely 3rd) time before the lights go out and there's no issue.

3) The Low Gear button no longer engages it. It just flashes a few times on the dash when you press the button. Does that need resetting as well???

4) The dashboard light for headlights no longer works (I'm guessing the buld has gone). The dashboard light for full beam however is fine!

ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

What's going on???

The low battery or the boost start / charge could have lft some fault codes that need to be cleared.
I would find an Indie to read out what is stored, clear the codes and go on from there
