Does anyone know if there is an official MB cradle for the internal handsfree kit for the new Nokia 6233 yet?

I have the full car-kit and my phone at the time was a 6230i, I would like the new offerings from Nokia but I would need to change the cradle.

Anyone got a parts list or work at a dealership and knows?

Just had a look HERE and it doesn't look like it.

Maybe keep swapping the SIM about from car - handset? This is how I have to do it :(

Not the best solution, but it works.

Alternatively there's a bluetooth one on that link....only £349.99 ;)

Check the current price lists as they detail all the cradles at the end of the extras section, but if it's really new I'd doubt it. You could also ask MB customer srervices. if they don't, you could always consider the bluetooth cradle.

deveenty ... Warning! Your link is showing you logged in as A****t T***a (I have removed most of the name). The address is there too. They clearly have a duff site, as those details should not come across in a link.

Some phone providers charge a small fee to have a second SIM which allows me to keep my 6230i in the car round the clock. I expect this is why the car kit in the MB actually turns the phone off when the enginer is off so the 'roaming' handset then becomes the live handset, I would simply switch this off when in the car.

I've looked at doing it this way but ideally I would like the correct cradle for the correct phone, MB maybe a while in updatgin the cradles so I might keep my existing phone for the meantime.

Cheers for that, but not my details. I just got the link from a fleabay supplier of these things.

May be his details?

I've now amended it, though let me know if there are still any probs?

Seems OK now - just says "Welcome, Please Sign In". What a dodgy site though - user's details stored in a link.

Just a thought here (possible solution as well?)

Just spoken with my provider who said that yes, I can have a second SIM, but will lose a lot of the benefits I enjoy now, such as free any network calls and lots more.

We chatted for a few minutes about alternative methods, and I suggested a PAYG SIM in the car one and keep my original SIM in my hand set.
When getting in the car, divert the handset, and when leaving it cancel the divert. (These long numbered settings can obviously be stored into quick dial solutions)
It does cost to receive a diverted call (on the handset bill) though for the amount I receive whilst actually driving it does seem a more sensible option.
Will let you know how I get on with it :)

This is something I considered as well, diverting the phone to another number, I run a business from my mpobile and maybe my clients would get pee'd off being diverted so I ruled this one out.

I wasn't aware that you lost network servcies when gettign a 2nd SIM. I'm with Orange, is your provider the same?

They wouldn't know....it's an instantaneous thing. They would just get exactly the same ring tone to wherever it was diverted through to.
I've used this system for years from my office phone to my mobile when I'm not in, but am now trying it from the mobile to the car as well. It's working fine so far. In theory, someone calls the office, which gets diverted to the handset (v slight delay here) which then gets diverted to the car. I don't miss a call, though end up paying a fair bit for it. One good job would cover the cost though.

Neither was I 'till I spoke to a very pleasant lady on customer services. She informed me that, as it was a different package, I'd lose my international call saver thingie, other network free calls, some free texts etc. Think the key word is *package*. I'm with Vodafone (have been for years) but may have a look at changing next time.

I've decided to stay with a 6320i and now have my new phone which fits my existing cradle. I've taken out an 18 month contract which will do me until my car is almost up for renewal, at that time I can then re-assess what model of car I go for and also I can get the new technology phone at that time.

I expect that either diverting the phone, going for a 3rd party cradle, getting a 2nd SIM would all be viable options but my only reason for wanting to change my handset was to get 3G and I only use GPRS on the road to collect emails occasionally so spending a lot of money or changing the way I work is not really a necessity.
