Hi all
My dad owns a 2001 c240 and it has a dash mounted hands free kit that was factory fitted but only works with older nokia models. Since he has not got one of these and they are incredibly outdated, is there a way to update the hands free mount to take new phones or some kind of bluetooth adaptor? All the wiring is already installed in the car linked to the steering wheel and display so it would be a shame to not use this and merely use an earpiece r install something brand new!
Your help r comments would be much appreciated!
Many thanks
PAZ

If your phone kit is the Mercedes kit which works via the steering wheel controls then I do not think that your version is upgradeable with a new cradle.

It is, but not for anything like a sensible cost. Best bet is to replace it with a Parrott kit.
I did hear of something that converted the old MB kits to bluetooth but I haven't heard anything on it for some time and can't find any details.

That is not really an option for pazmataz as the car kit fitted is not one which will take the different cradles. As per jberks above it is possible but so prohibitively expensive as to be unrealistic.
Even with the bluetooth Mercedes only have an approved list of phones which is quite a small list.

thanks for offers of 6210/6310, but dad has jsut recently bought a bluetooth phone, when i say recently, i mean literally a couple of weeks ago!!so dont think he'll be buying a new one, if its that expensive to get a conversion (not that surprising ith mercedes!) then its a bluetooth headset after all!
once again thanks for al your help guys!

I have a similar problem at the moment and need to install a hands free.

Anyone have any experience with the Parrot system? Halfords do them with installation for £99. Seems reasonable enough, but can you actually have a decent conversation through them?
