Take it to a bloke on the Market who'll do it.

It's easier on later phones with a data cable, but I doubt the 6210 has the facility for a DC.

Someone on a market will do it for £5 or recommend someone. If you'd asked me a few years ago, I was well into all the mobiles, with lots of mobile phone flashing equipment.

cheers mate

For heaven sake, make sure you back up all the things you want (Messages, Numbers).

Whilst updating the software, the phone will be unlocked to all networks as well, so it's a double bonus.

Hi All,
First post and also my first Mercedes, E Class 05 reg.
Car is pre wired for a phone and currently has a cradle for a nokia handset, 6230 models, situated inside the centre arm rest. Can anyone tell me if there are cradles out there for the newer range of nokia "E" series of handsets, for example the E90?
This may already discussed, still trying to navigate the site.
Thanks.

MB Flyer.

One thing worth trying with the Nokia adaptors before blaming the phone...

If your phone is the type with the edge connector (looks like a set of gold teeth!) then Merc have had a lot of problems with the adaptor making contact correctly.

The adaptor has a row of sprung pins held in a plastic clip and the plastic wears meaning the pins stick and/or lose spring pressure and therefore don't correctly contact the phone.

Result is the phone usually charges but faults range from lack-of-earth interference to "I can't hear you" to phone not recognised at all depending on which pin(s) are failing to make good contact.

Worth removing the adaptor and taking it apart (easy) to free/clean up the pins.

Also, the adaptors have 2 years warranty if bought from Merc as parts but 3 years if specified as extras at first registration (i.e. coming as part of the car).

Finally there have been a few Comand updates to improve connection reliability so worth checking you are up to date here (should be if you use Merc for services!).
