Mobilo 8 Year Warning

Hi

Warning to anyone who has had rust work carried out on their vehicle. My understanding was that it was covered for a further 3 years. My 3 years will be up in June but MB have changed their mind on this one and it is only covered until the car is 8 years old which was in November past.

So anyone waiting to close to the end of 3 years post repair beware that MB now wash their hands off it once it turns 8 years old.

The 8 yr corrosion warranty is for cars prior to October 1998, post 10/98 the 30 yr corrosion warranty came into effect.

I am only passing on what i was told yesterday and yes my car is post 10/98.
Its a warning for others in the same situation MB will warrant rust goodwill for 3 years after the good will work was done up to when the car is 8 years old. if that is only one year after the work was done then thats them finished despite what the 30 year Mobilo warranty states.

Do you have to have full MB service history to get rust spots sorted ?

I have a 1999 CLK and it has 2 rust bubbles - will these be covered under any warranty by MB although I don't think I have full MB history ?
