folks,
just a story about my experience with the warranty, purchased c class
sports coupe about 9 weeks ago. Found corrosion on door.spoke to MB
dealership in Aberdeen who said i must own the car for 6 months for this
rust to be covered under the warranty.

The dealer i purchased the car from have said they would sort it-at
their cost, but of course this would invalidate the MB warranty but only
for the door in question

What should i do ??????????

personally I'd wait/appeal.
No decision is final so go back to the dealer and explain that you are not a trader and intend to keep the car for a number of years and ask them to lodge an appeal on your behalf (and you will then look on them favourably for sevicing etc).

I don't think it would invalidate the MB warranty if you get the door done at an approved MB bodyshop. If the dealer who sold you the car won't pay for that, why not offer to pay the difference between the approved shop and the one he would use?

The issue about owning for six months or more is because some have bought a Mercedes cheaply because it has rust that the owner has not bothered to get treated. The new owner then expects Mercedes to pay to put the rust right.
