After 20 years, I got fed up with the cost, competence and dreadful journey to my nearest main MB dealer. Instead I went to a very local garage specialising in MB and run by an ex MB mechanic. As I understand it, the servicing etc. is entered onto the MB system. Is my 7 year old car likely to still be covered by Mobilo?

No, you only get Mobilo if it is serviced at MB Dealers.

Use the money you saved to invest in breakdown cover, basically that is all Mercedes do, sub it out, the days of a knowledgeable Mercedes mechanic attending roadside are long gone....

Last breakdown I had in June the Mobilo guy was knowledgeable and knew by the symptoms what the issue was before he arrived! The other thing about Mobilo is its European cover but if you stay in the UK then AA/RAC etc. are cheaper

AA & RAC also offer European coverage, the only time I used Mobilo the RAC attended, I queried it at the time and he said they often attend for Mercedes as if the issue is complex or vehicle specific the car is taken to the nearest dealer....

I’ve switched to Britannia Rescue (linked to LV) much cheaper than AA/RAC and very happy with their service when my CBR ran out of electricity
