Modified car insurance recommendations...

Hi guys

new to this forum....

Have not long been the proud owner of a Mercedes E63 AMG 5.5 biturbo. OMG, what a machine this is!! Blows my old Audi S5 V8 out of the water!

Still in the getting to know the car stage, but was just wondering about modified insurance as maybe considering a stage 1 upgrade (from GAD tuning)

Anyone got any recommendations or have had experience in this area.

Have done a search on this form but not that much turning up

I would suggest Privilege for a quote along with A-Plan brokers. Direct Line, Tesco and Admiral are also worth a shout

I'm with Tesco with a declared remap on an E63 Biturbo and paying £360pa.
Insurance is strange. Last year, just before the remap, I was paying £440 with Axa.

It's a postcode lottery with so many variables that my quotes will bear no resemblance to your situation.
Incidentally, I recommend MSL Performance Birmingham for AMG remaps. With their 20 years experience, I consider them the best.

Hi,

Am also with Admiral and have been for a few years with my modded E55. Have been the best price over the past few years.
As AMGeed says, it’s a funny ole thing is insurance.

It was cheaper for my daughter to insure an SL500, than a Golf 1.6, not that she did. We just thought we’d see how ridiculous he quote for the SL would be, she being only 28 at the time.
