monowiper not parking correctly w202

Hi,

The wiper on my w202 (1996) C220D is ocassionally getting confused about the parking place. Sometimes (and this is getting more and more frequent) it parks 20-30 degrees above the horisontal line. After switch on-off it will then park properly.

I did lubricate the rails as suggested in the other thread and I have no other issues with the wiper.

Could anyone advice if this can be fixed by a moderately competently home mechanic, or I should start saving (and selling things) to fund new wiper purchase.

It is probably a motor fault.

Never heard of this before, but it is probably due to wear or contamination of the parking track at the motor gearbox.
