Month Year of Manufacture

Obviously, I'm missing something. I have checked the Russian
cite for my VIN number and it is most informative. However, I cannot acertain the Month and Year of Manufacture of my car from the information presented. What am I missing??? Is there another cite to query???

You can get a fair idea of the build date by removing some of the plastic panels in the car 90% have a date stamp on them

I sent an e-mail to mercedes asking them for my car's datacard. Since my W116 is old they sent me a .pdf, my Lady Genevieve was completed on the 12/Nov/1975.

That should be the site, if you put in your vin number; otherwise do a search on here under "vin". I think I'll email Germany too; I've always been puzzled that mine was registered in Dec 1983 but a vin check says approx build year 1981!

Thanks Malcolm, that's still showing the approx year of manufacture as approx 1981. Seems the old girl might be 29 after all!
