Hi,

I posted up the other day that my rear door on my C200K new model C-Class was rusted and getting replaced. Now a couple of the doors need to be done.

These cars give 1970's cars a bad name for rust. What a heap of rubbish.

I was told by the car body repairers that its due to lack of sealant, poor quality water based paints with very little sprayed on and possible cheap metal used.

There must be other people with this... I would like to hear.

C Class Corrosion

Hi HB
There have been quite a few threads on here about C Class door rust, mostly estate rear door edges and mine is one of them. But by the way you say "my car body repairers" I assume you have not taken your motor back to a Mercedes dealer, and I wonder why? Even if it's a W202 it will probably still be under its anti corrosion warranty and if it's a W203, I would have it round to the stealership in a heartbeat!
Door corrosion on these cars is a well known problem and MB are responsible for sorting it!
