Hi guys
For any that read my recent post on selecting a car to buy (cd220 over cd270) I have a couple of questions.
Does the Comand system change any over the years from 2002 to present day? I'm guessing it's been refined like most technology, but does 2002 Comand represent the "bulk" of what's on offer in the system as to compared to present day system?

Also how much does service plus cost?

TIA
:D

I don't think you will be in time for Service plus, you will not have a full year up to it's 5 year maximum age limit.
The Command system does it's job fine, of course newer versions will be more advanced but as I say it does the job.
You can update the disc to the latest version. Alfie on here can supply it, I will at some point but not needing the satnav too much at this time.
Does the car also have a multichanger? if not it would be worth getting one or you will be forever swapping the sat nav and music cd.

I believe it has a 6 disc system, but not having taken receipt of the car yet, not inspected it....;)

I do know that the commands went wide screen in 2004 and you have the DVD function.

My 2002 Command gets me to where I want to go, and I am very pleased with it, as said Alfie will be along with the rest.

As blobcat says, its to 6 years or 120,000 miles. The cost will depend on the kind of mileage you do. I pay a little over £70 p/m based on 20k p/a. If you read my other threads you will see that for me it has proved an absolute god-send.

Ask your dealer for a quote or you can get one from Service Plus via the MB website.
