Hi Guys.
Had the MOT done on my 2002 W203 C270cdi today. I received a phone call saying it had failed due to the washers not working. I told the guy that they were working and did he have the door open when trying it. He tried again with the door closed and it worked so it passed, no problem.

He did however try to find out why the washers didn't work before phoning me which included removing several fuses while the ignition was on. Now the airbag warning light is on.

Is there any easy way to turn it off without going to a dealer?

The easiest way is to make the MOT guy turn it off

You will only turn this light off with a decent diagnostic machine. I would agree with Malcolm, that the onus is on the MOT man. It was his lack of marque knowledge that led to this problem, so it is his responsibility to fix it. Unless you asked him to try to fix the washers for you, he had no reason to fiddle with anything on your car.

I learnt this years ago when a lady asked me to put a battery in her beaten up portable radio, "it was working she said when I brought it in" so after that I just supply the battery and never fit it
