Motorway Madness

Hi,
Travelling the length of the M27 twice a day i,ve noticed the distict lack of patrolling police cars around, and is it my imagination but every other car has something wrong with its lights faulty side/headlights, brake lights, headlight alignment, pathetic blue neon washer jets, and my personal pet hate "fog lights" why do people drive with these on when theres not even a sign of decreased visibility!!! and i was under the impression that driving with these on was actually a motoring offence. Another pet hate is people using their mobile phones if the police actually patrolled this motorway they may actually catch these people, especially now it will be a £60 3 point offence.
The motorway is now patrolled by a marked range rover with what appears to be private security. What do they actually do? As they don,t pull people over they only ever seem to assist in breakdown recovery and cruise the motorway can,t they nick people?
Anybody got any comments?

didnt you know that the Fog Lights make your car look better in the daylight....everyone except the driver thinks they do anyway lol. hahah

The foglight issue is just a combination af laziness and not knowing what the warning lights mean.....
I agree that you see far less patrol cars about these days. Put yourself in the position of a copper, trying to make the best of it; would you want to drive up and down inordinately tedoius motorways all day, pulling people who will then give you 1/2 hour of verbals, or sit in your luxurious cop-shop eating dohnuts?
